Milan Fashion Week kicked off with a great event organized to present the Vic Matiè Fall Winter 2012 shoes collection. I've been a fan of the unconventional designs of this very creative brand, which apart from the name it is 100% Italian design. At the Circus Studio in Milan, Vic Matié's collection was presented like a moving art installation.
"We always think that every shoe has to 'live' at the feet of women, sharing with them every moment and not be relegated to a mere accessory in the wardrobe," said Silvia Curzi, brand manager of Vic Matiè . Hence the idea of a catwalk that would break the traditional patterns to bring up the Vic Matiè shoes as the new runway stars.
The collection showed an osmosis, a union of different elements that talk to each other, giving rise to design objects are able to cross boundaries. This is the core concept of the collection: a complete merger between materials and details that can be in conflict and sometimes feet perfectly, making every single piece in the collection.
We especially loved the materials used which were "warm and soft to the touch," as nubuck and wool. Everything combined with metal shells and skin stretch from the small and bright metallic finish details.
