A day with Michela Cerruti, a pilot and a fashionista

I had the great pleasure to spend a whole day with Michela going around the Vairano race circuit on her BMW Z4 car and in the meanwhile talking fashion and beauty. Because this girl, who spends her time between winning the Superstars International Series in her pink Mercedes C63 AMG and winning the Italian Grand Turismo Race with her BMW Z4 GT3, has got style and not only in driving.

Apart from being a successful pilot, Michela is involved with the Non-Profit Organization Operation Smile Italy helping children with 'cleft lip' deformity. She is just back from Amman, Jordan, where Michela personally has followed the group of surgeons from Operation Smile volunteers. The young 'Ambassador of Smiles'' has donated part of her racing buget to the foundation and has initiated various fund raising activities related to automobiles. "Giving back the smile to children" - says Michela - "is the best victory of my whole career."

We should all be very proud of Michela's results in a male environment like the one of the car races. She has worked hard to be where she is , without sacrificing her femininity or her high heels to fit in. A pink Mercedes winning the Formula 3 Superstars International Series should have sent a signal to the racing world. Women are here and they plan to stay. Wishing good luck to Michela, I hope to see her one day on Formula 1, representing all of us.
