It is Walt Disney's fault. We all grew up with a happy ending story which usually included a wedding dress. They make reality shows on brides-to-be wedding dress choices, a separate show on the party organization and apparently 2 Billion viewers turned on their TVs to watch the Royal Wedding. My friend Laura writes on her blog on how going to 8 weddings in a year helped her make few choices for her future wedding. The wedding industry has also an annual statistics report where you can compare in which category your wedding was... and so on and so forth. I think I've been to more weddings than birthday parties and I've come to the conclusion that I hate picking a wedding dress and organizing a wedding party. I'd love to move directly to the part '...and they annoyed each other happily ever after'.
But please invite me to your weddings. I'm a great gift-giver and quite a dancer. I'll be more than happy to come and help you pick a dress or organize a bachelorette party. But don't expect from me a wedding invitation... ever.
That being said, the images above are from my friend Onerda's wedding which was the most beautiful bride I've ever seen.

How beautiful!!! Your dress and hers! I love the rose petals. I def. know what I want and don't want at my wedding after going to a lot of my friends weddings within the past few years. I just need to be engaged first lol

love the first bride! so chic and simple!
great post btw!
Oh, marriage. One of the biggest signifiers of happiness in our society where you are allowed to be happy only by ahdering to the norms of the patriarchal, heteronormative tradition.
Having said that, the bride looks beautiful, you look beautiful and champagne always tastes delicious ;)
"And they annoyed each other happily ever after".....hahaha
P.S: I'm in love with your dress!

cmq se mai mi sposerò, senza che tu mi preghi, ovvio che ti invito al mio matrimonio. Bisogna solo ricercare un fidanzato ;)
Bellissimo vestito cara! Stai benissimo!

Disney indeed always tell us about happy ending... but we're not so sure of that in real life, right? :)

Onerda looks absolutely stunning - but I have to agree with you about weddings. I had one two years ago and it was eighteen months of exhaustion leading up to eight hours of incredible stress... And then it ended, just like that :) Frankly, I was much happier when it was all over!
