Why suffer in high heels?

Why suffer in high heels? This has been my motto through out my university years. I had just one pair for special occasions, which consisted in first dates, then at the second date my true self would show up wearing ballerina shoes. Once I had stolen the heart of the boy, the heels wouldn’t come out of the shoe closet.

Things changed a little bit when I started working, and a pair of black pointed pumps were added to the collection. They were stored all the time in my office closet, and I’d keep going to work in flat shoes and change them once in the office.

The radical change came when I dedicated some time to finding the perfect heel and the platform shoes come back into the fashion world. I finally could wear high heels without suffering. Since that day I’ve collected around 80 high heel shoes and will never go back to wearing ballerina shoes 100% of the time. I know what works for my feet now. The heels can go from 10cm to 16cm, the important thing is for them to have a platform, even the 1cm platform works, as far as my feet doesn’t touch the ground directly. The only pair of shoes that I sacrifice the platform for the beauty is my Manolo Blahnik

The latest entrance in my shoe closet are these velvet winter heels from German shoe company Zign. I already had a pair of summer sandals from the same brand, and they were so comfortable that I could run in them. So when I saw their Fall Winter collection and found these pair which had the identical shape of the ones I have been using all summer I just couldn’t resist getting the velvet winter version.

But the most important new entrance in the shoe closet are these pair of foldable ballerina shoes. I had first read about the Butterfly Twists some years ago in a UK magazine I had picked at the airport. I think they were the first to come up with the foldable shoe idea. Many other brands have copied the idea and have produced foldable shoes, but no one can match the styles of Butterfly Twist. We all need a pair to be in our bags, especially if we go out of the house already knowing that those pair of Prada shoes will hurt as hell after 2 hours standing. And we don’t have to give up on style because the Butterfly Twists come in different patterns from plain black to snake skin, with studs or sequins. I chose the Serena Gold Black because I mainly wear dresses when I go out in super high heels, so this design will match the party look and are perfect for this Holiday season. They come with their small carry-around pochette.
