Two Hours of Berlin

I had just few hours to visit Berlin, and not getting the map with us was a great mistake. We wandered for 2 hours around the Potsdamer Platz, without being aware that we were just 1 km away from Branderburg Gate. Fortunately pieces of the Berlin Wall were all over the place covered in graffiti, showed as pieces of art, so I can say I saw the infamous wall. It had also snowed and it looked like it was going to rain soon, definitely not the perfect weather condition for a long walk in high heels, but I discovered these Zign wedge boots to be more comfortable than a pair of ballerinas. Anyway I'll have to go back in Berlin in Spring and have a weekend just planned for tourism.  But I couldn't leave Berlin without seeing some of the most important sites, so on my way back to the hotel after the Hugo Boss Party I asked the courtesy car to drive me around the city for a bit, just to see the Branderburg Gate, the Spree river and  the Fernsehturm. The driver was so nice, he started talking about how New Year's eve is a great celebration in the city, what are the places I should visit next time and what is the typical food I should order at the restaurants. 

Ho avuto a disposizione solo poche ore per visitare Berlino, e non aver preso la mappa con noi è stato un grande errore. Abbiamo girato per 2 ore in Potsdamer Platz, senza renderci conto che eravamo a solo 1 km dalla Porta di Brandeburgo. Fortunatamente  pezzi del muro di Berlino erano sparsi da per tutto, coperti di graffiti e messi in mostra come opere d'arte, quindi posso dire che ho visto il famoso muro. Aveva anche nevicato e sembrava che stesse per piovere, sicuramente era la condizione di tempo perfetta per una lunga passeggiata con i tacchi alti, ma questi stivali con zeppa di Zign si sono rivelati più comodi di un paio di ballerine. In ogni caso dovrò tornare a Berlino in primavera pianificando un fine settimana dedicato al turismo. Ma non potevo lasciare Berlino senza vedere alcuni dei siti più importanti, così al mio ritorno in albergo dopo il party Hugo Boss ho chiesto all'auto di cortesia di portarmi in giro per la città per un po ', giusto per vedere la Porta di Brandeburgo , il fiume Spree e il Fernsehturm. L'autista è stato così carino, ha iniziato a parlare di come la vigilia di Capodanno è una grande festa in città, quali sono i posti che dovrei visitare la prossima volta e che cibo tipico dovrei ordinare presso i ristoranti. Una Berlino di notte vista dal finestrino di una macchina, ha concluso la mia giornata fantastica.
