5 Designers to Know From London Fashion Week

Where high fashion meets innovation, London Fashion Week is a source of inspiration to break free from comfort zones and tests the limits of one’s imagination. The unseen bold statements of this year’s fall 2017-18 LFW can be credited to these upcoming designers who certainly do not believe in the saying “less is more”.

Sophia Webster:

One of the UKs most famous shoe and handbag designers, Sophia Webster lived up to her title we she showed the world her feminine and incredibly creative fall/winter collection during the 2017 LFW. Her bold and playful approach on women’s accessories has led her to the distribution of her brand at over 200 retailers worldwide.

Peter Pilotto:

This successful brand is composed of two designers; Peter Pilotto himself alongside Christopher De Vos launched their first collection in 2007 after meeting and working together in London. This initial collection consisted of digital printed designs which was so successful that it led them to where they are today as designers. Their brand is now sold in 50 countries around the world and stocked by some of the most prestigious department stores. The Peter Pilotto fall/winter 2017 collection provided an outstanding number of colorful and exotic pieces that were designed in such unique shapes that make them hard to forget.

Erdem:

Created in London after graduating from the Royal College of Art, Erdem Moralioglu made his label in the fashion industry known as he conducted pieces that were abundant in texture, color, and prints. He experimented with his fall/winter 2017 collection this year by combining the gentle with the daring in a strong feminine way.

Marques’Almeida

Believeing in the psychology behind the art of fashion, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida stand behind the motto of “fashion is about attitude, not hemlines”. The process of their craftsmanship is revealed as each effortless look within their collections is credited to a complex construction that the duo devotes to each piece. Marques ‘Almeida goes unnoticed in the eye of the fashion industry as they have acclaimed many honorable awards throughout the years.

Simone Rocha:

Native to Dublin but thrives in London, Simone Rocha’s designs are now sold in some of the most prominent luxury retail stores in the world. Her fall/winter 2017-18 collection was beautifully created for a broad spectrum of women who all have the same aspiration of sophistication. Rocha is also extremely talented in the making of hand-made sculptures and window displays.
